Andreas has worked hard to learn how to make some complicated origami models, including colourful floral wheels, by folding coloured paper.  He rose well to the challenge of teaching his class mates how to make these.

Feeling Proud

Andrew displayed great perseverance and determination during Art's Week to complete his own projects and help others. We were very proud of his dedication and caring nature to complete his own work to a high standard and then be so willing to help others.

Mother's Day Writing

Room 15 wrote Mum Is... letters to each Mum for Mother's Day. Each individual wrote some beautiful messages to their Mums to remind them how special they are each and every day. Here are a couple of examples of our work.

GET NEW ZEALAND WRITING!

Around 3000 classes are taking part in Get New Zealand Writing and Room 15 is one of them.  We were sent a box with all sorts of things inside to do for our class writing project.  The learners in Room 15 have been exposed to many opportunities to work individually, in small groups and in whole class situations to complete our challenge. 

Our first task was to find out all sorts of things about ourselves and share them by recording them on the big poster above.

One of our tasks was to create a postcard. We had to make the front extremely colourful. When we put all of the 30 postcards together they will read a Found Poem.

Next we had to learn about Metaphors and what they describe when we read or write them.
We read a Poem together called Iain Sharpe and identified the metaphors we read.

When we have completed our Found Poetry Art we will send it down south and they will send us their Project. It's like having a Class Pen Pal! We look forward to exploring the work we get in the mail.

Swimming Carnival Snapshots

Room 15 children participated enthusiastically in the Middle School Swimming Carnival. Here are some of the snapshots we got of the Room 15 swimmers. We were very lucky that we had a lovely warm day and the swimmers enjoyed participating in all of their 3 races.

Well done Room 15 - Assembly Award

Room 15 showed some excellent examples of managing themselves at our first School Assembly to earn the Assembly Award. Excellent work. We are very proud of your super manners!
